When to have breast surgery?

Female beauty has always been imperative. Cultural and social parameters of female beauty have changed over time, but the need and desire to look beautiful is present in all women regardless of cultural and social differences.

Breasts, as one of the main symbols of femininity, significantly contribute to the general impression of a harmonious figure. When the breasts are naturally underdeveloped, noticeably different in size, the problem can only be solved surgically. Often after giving birth and breastfeeding, women want to restore the original appearance of their breasts. Most women who turn to plastic surgeons lack a sense of self-confidence due to dissatisfaction with the proportions of their figure. The most common request is breast augmentation with silicone implants. The size of the implant and its shape are decided together by the patient and the aesthetic surgeon.

At the Center for Aesthetic Surgery of Codra Hospital, we give each patient unique attention and time for consultation, before a joint decision is made on the intervention that is best for you.

What do you need to know before you decide to enlarge your breasts with silicone implants?

Silicone implants cannot prevent breasts from “falling”. If you have such a problem, the surgeon will suggest a breast lift at the same time.
The silicone implants we use do not have an expiration date. However, due to the effect of gravity, after 10-15 years from the operation, it is recommended to replace the implant in order to preserve the originally achieved effect.
The appearance of the operated breast can change if you gain or lose a lot of weight or after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Then a new operation is recommended.
It is necessary to check that the silicone implant has not ruptured. That is why you will need regular ultrasound checks, once a year, and magnetic resonance imaging is recommended once every 5 years.
