SCIENTIFIC FIELD: MEDICINE – ONCOLOGY AND SURGERY
BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. sci. honey. Aleksandar ČELEBIĆ, PhD, was born in Podgorica. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade. He received his master’s degree in surgical anatomy, and in 2005 he completed his specialization in general surgery at the University of Belgrade. He obtained his diploma in the field of clinical oncology in 2007 at the University of Paris V-VI (Sorbonne), when he also obtained the prestigious DUERCC diploma (European diploma in the field of clinical research in oncology) at the University of Paris XI. He defended his doctorate in 2009 at the University of Paris XII.
In his previous career, he was actively engaged in work at the most eminent clinics in the field of oncology and oncological surgery in Paris and Milan: Institut Gustave Roussy, Hopital Henri Mondor, Institut Curie, Hopital Paul Brousse, Hopital Tenon, as well as the European Institute of Oncology and the National Cancer Institute Institute in Milan. He was also employed at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in Belgrade. As a specialist in the field of oncology and surgery, he is employed at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, at the Clinic for Oncology and Radiotherapy and the Surgical Clinic, while at the same time he is employed at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif. He is an official physician – advisor to the Embassy of France in Montenegro. He is an official ICRETT expert for awarding UN scholarships, as well as an expert of the Garson Lehrman Group from the USA, as well as the European School of Oncology from Milan. He is a permanent consultant and member of the multidisciplinary oncology council at the IRVA Clinic in Belgrade, as well as for the Yvelinnes Nord region in France.
He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the European Society of Surgical Oncology, the European School of Oncology, the European Association for Cancer Research, the European Association for Endoscopy, the European Association for Organ Transplantation, the European Society for Vascular Surgery, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver.
He has published more than 60 scientific and professional works in the field of surgery and oncology. He speaks fluent French, English and Italian.
